I praise the Lord for my Dad. He has been the picture of consistency and service my whole life. When I think about service, I think about Dad. He has served on committees and groups that made King, NC a better place to live. He has continued the business his father started and been a role model for other business owners and for the men and women he has employed. Many years he employed high school kids and fire fighters. He has treated them like family. And Kenneth who works for him now is like family.
All my life he has served behind the scenes as a vital part of King Moravian Church. He serves as one of the head ushers, makes sure everyone is comfortable and welcomed, and makes sure things run smoothly. He has a quiet and strong faith in the Lord. His service and walk played a huge role of shaping who I am.
He has always been there for Mom and myself. He came to my soccer games and cheered me on. He was there when I marched in the band. He worked hard to help me go to Elon. In so many big and small ways he has been a rock for me to stand on and an encourager. I have so much respect for him. He was there for Mom as she went through her cancer treatment. He knew what she needed and when and was there for her.
I have many fond memories of family times we spent. The Friday or Saturday nights just riding around and enjoying the weather. Exploring the roads of North Carolina. Vacations were always fun as we explored this state and beyond.
The bottom line is, he is a great father and role model. I’m blessed to have him as my father and friend. I desire that he knows how much I love him and am so grateful for him. I’m glad you all hear about him as well. Happy Father’s Day!
