In 2003, I made my first trip to Bocachica, Colombia. When we started working with Proyecto Libertad, there were a young man from the island who worked with the mission. That man was Samy Cruzzuate Martinez. Every time I have worked with the mission, he has been there. He is a hard worker. He works with the construction and many other aspects of the mission. He is also a good musician and worship leader. In 2011, I felt the Lords calling to support Samy. I wanted to free him up to go to school and work with the mission. He is engaged to Marley Reyes Fuentes and the are getting married this fall. She works for the mission and is going to school for accounting.
The mission has a boat that they are working on. Their desire is to use the boat for medical mission outreach to the surrounding islands and beyond. Samy wants to be a part of that. The Lord provided a $3,500 scholarship to attend the YWAM School of Navigation and Seamanship. The course is over the summer in Kona, Hawaii. Samy needs our help. He has to pay for his U.S. visa, and airplane tickets. If you want to help please contact Proyecto Libertad via Facebook, their website or via email ywampl(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)hotmail.com.
The mission also needs help with the repairs on the boat and its’ mission. Please consider helping them out. I know the staff of Proyecto Libertad, I know their work, and fully support and endorse Samy and the mission. They are doing a powerful and wonderful work among the poor and needy in Colombia. Please help!
UPDATE FROM SAMY 5/30/2012
Hello Friends! I hope you are all doing well and are as happy as I am! I am planning to get married this fall; to the woman I have always dreamed of marrying! You know this beautiful princess already; it’s Marley! We are very happy about starting this new chapter of our lives. I am also feeling very challenged right now because since last year I have wanted to do a special school to help prepare myself to work with the boat ministry in Bocachica. The Lord has given me a burden to work in this ministry. He has also really surprised me in what I would call a supernatural way! For me, it was nearly impossible to attend this school. But my God is a God of the impossible and He has provided a scholarship for me to be able to go and receive this training that I have so desired! The school is called the School of Navigation and Seamanship and is being held at YWAM’s University of the Nations in Kona, Hawaii. The school begins on June 20 and is a 3 month long program. If you would like to read more about the school you can visit the website here: http://ywamships.net/train/school-of-navigation-and-seamanship-sons-2/ The school costs $4,000 usd and I received a scholarship for $3,500 usd! God has been extremely good to me and has used some special friends to help provide some of the things that were still lacking for this trip. Now I only need to raise approximately $900 usd more to cover the rest of my expenses for the school and my round-trip flights to Hawaii. If you would like to help me you can send an offering here (please send an email to karenwsilva(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)hotmail.com" target="_blank">karenwsilva(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)hotmail.com to let us know to be on the look-out for it): EMAIL karenwsilva(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)hotmail.com" target="_blank">Karen for support details I have an appointment at the US Embassy on May 31 to apply for my visa and I would really appreciate it if you would support me in this through your prayers.
