Sunday July 27, 2008

Mom, Dad and Mary Etta (Grandmother Gentry) picked me up Friday morning we had a good time talking on our trip up.  We got into Virginia Beach mid-afternoon.  That night we relaxed and had a good supper of shrimp, scallops, and veggies.  It was good to catch up with my Aunt Mary Ann.  We all had fun talking and also playing with Mary Ann’s Cat Jerri.  Dad, Mary Etta and I went shopping at Ollie’s (kind of like Big Lots).  Saturday morning, Mom, Dad and I went to the beach.  Mary Etta and Mary Ann stayed home and did some cooking and talking.  It was a great beach day not to hot and a good breeze blowing.  I walked down the beach to the pier and back.  We caught some rays and headed back a little after 11, before the beach got too crowded.  After lunch, we did a little more shopping.  Dad and I did some tasks around Mary Ann’s house to help her out.  We went out to supper at Bubba’s.  I had a Teriyaki tuna steak that was AWESOME.  Everyone’s meal was great and it was a nice time.  After we got back, Mary Ann’s neighbor Audry came over and we all talked and laughed out on the screened in porch.  Today we got up and were going to go to church with Mary Ann but she had decided to take it easy.  So we packed up and relaxed with her.  She and Dad took Jerri to the kitty spa.  We packed up and headed out around 11.  Mary Ann hopefully got some rest before she headed to UVA to spend the night and then do chemotherapy tomorrow.  We stopped in Courtland and had lunch at For Pete’s Sake.  It is a great local place that makes great home style food.  We all had different dishes but they were all great.  We got into Burlington a little before 5 and I said goodbye.  It was a very relaxing weekend and a great time with family.  I’m so blessed!
