I have the joy of being a part of the Arts Alive Family. Arts Alive is a Christian arts studio located in Burlington, NC. Their goal is to glorify God through the arts. God created art and art is meant to glorify Him. They have programs for graphic arts (painting, drawing, photography, etc.), dance (liturgical, jazz, tap, clogging, modern, etc.), music, and theater. I have been blessed to be able to use the gifts God has given me as a part of the Arts Alive team for the last few years (at least since 1999). The Lord has place so many talented people together. Each has unique gifts and together we all work together to help the students grow in their gifts.
Last week, we were at the Paramount Theater for the Dance, Music, & Sword for Stage recital on Friday. Saturday & Sunday we did the ballet “Blessings at the Well.” This week is the theater production. This year has been a stretch for us all. We are doing “In His Steps” from the book of the same name. It is where the “What Would Jesus Do” movement grew from. It is a powerful story set in the 1890’s. That means we had to create all the costumes from scratch as well as find furniture, props and get hair styles correct. Well things are shaping up well so far.
