I just found out that a dear saint and friend in the the Lord has passed. Ruby Alford, better known to most as Princess Ruby Child of the King, is now present with Him. Ruby was one of the first people I met when I started going to church at Antioch, when I was at Elon. It blew me for a loop when I heard her introduced herself. But you know, it was inspiring. Here was a woman that the Lord got a hold of and transformed. She was grateful for His salvation and rejoiced in who she was in Christ. She was who she was. She played no games and walked out her faith on a daily basis. I had the pleasure of spending time around her in her home, with her family and in church for many years. She was a prayer warrior and rejoiced in lifting others up both here in the U.S. and across the world up. So many of us were blessed for years to have an email in our inbox every morning from Ruby. Her Thought Of The Day emails encouraged us all in the Lord. I know she loved her children, their spouses and her grandchildren. She took pride in them and wanted to be there for them when ever she could. The last year she was in my prayers on a daily basis. I prayed for her each time I turned onto Joyful Ln. off Mountainside Ln. at her house. I lifted her and her family up as they struggled with her health. I know that she is at home with Jesus. She is no longer hindered but oxygen cords and a weak body. I’m sure she is dancing and singing praise to her savor right now.
I’m so grateful to the Lord for allowing me to know Ruby this side of heaven. She taught me to be thankful each day for that day no matter lives circumstances. She taught me to praise the Lord for what He saved me from and what He saved me to. She taught me to rejoice that the Lord has called us his children and we are royalty thanks to the shed blood of Jesus. She also taught me that God uses simple actions and simply living the walk to encourage, equip and change the world. Ruby we will miss you, but we will see you again!
Love,
Geoff Gentry child of the King!
Well said, Geoff! All who knew her loved her, and our lives were made all the richer by Ruby’s life. One of my favorite memories of Ruby was the oft-repeated email I would get from her after I had asked her to pray about something. “Got you covered, bro!” she would reply, and I took that to the bank. If Ruby said she was praying, you could count on it. She was praying while most of us were sleeping. Now she is with the One who “ever lives to make intercession” for us. Heaven rejoices over this dear saint who has made her final destination and heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Thank you, Lord, for sharing Ruby with us. Would You raise up many more just like her?

What a beautiful eulogy, Geoff! Thanks for sharing that with everyone
Wonderful thoughts about a sister I look forward to seeing again one day. Thanks, Geoff!
Whenever I read something that this, I always think of the scripture 1 Cor 15:15: O death where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory?
Also, I already linked the xanga to facebook, but thanks for the offer!
