Saturday December 15, 2007 - Notes From the Journey

Saturday December 15, 2007

I just got back in from a long day of catering.  We did a wedding.  The ceremony was in a converted barn.  The hayloft area was beautifully decorated and warm was several heaters.  Attached to the barn was a long walkway and attached to the walkway was a tent.  When got there the bottom of the tent was not attached to the base and the heaters were not one.  It was beautiful inside but cold.  The finally got the heaters turned on and the tent secured.  The walkway area is where we had the tables for food, appetizers and drinks.  That area was cold and we had no heaters in there for a hour or two.  We couldn’t use the kitchen in the barn to warm things.  So we did it all there.  I spent the evening making pot after pot of coffee and adding ingredients to the cider (a pomegranate apple cider).  When we got to eat, we all grabbed plates and went in to the barn and ate around the heaters.  It was a wild night!
